Pathways to and from prison management units: Clinical, criminogenic, and environmental predictors of segregation, time spent in management and post management outcomes

This project has two components: a data linkage study (Part A), matching police, mental health and CV data to determine the mental health precursors, and criminal behaviour for a cohort of Victorian offenders who have been held in a management unit. The second study (Part B) is prospective and will seek to recruit a sample of men in management units and explore their progress over a 10-year period. The benefits associated with this project are enormous, this is a high risk, complex population that is often very expensive to service and detail. It is critical that pathways into and out of management are understood
